Reflective Statement - Pitch Feedback

I am extremely happy with my feedback and how my pitch went, I'm glad Dr. Klappa and Phil liked my pitch and animatic,
positives: Dr. Klappa - totally got it, really liked it, Loved the characters, fun, good humor and he would show this to his kids :)
Phil - on board, funny, will work, made him smile and that it established that the body is full of superheroes
I need tweak things like:
Duplicate Chromosomes before mitosis (it happens in the S phase) Change ending sound to something the fits the actions of the characters more comic-book grammar (don't forget to use comic book sounds to help the comic-book style, sounds like pop, bang, and swoosh)character design needs work - cleaner, symmetry, character and animation centric environments - use background in pitch title instead of the city environment  (focus on character) these will be done and ill be sure to get help every step to make sure that this is a fantastic looking animation

Changing target audience and the research

After much thought and consideration I decided that the target audience should be 11 to 16 boys instead of girls for I find that the idea I want to do would appeal to the male demographic more, for my idea is to make a cell into a superhero. So in order for me to go ahead with my idea I need to see what boys of that age like.

I look into shows, animation, games and comic book to help me with my influence, here are my results:

T.V Shows and Online

Big Bang theory
Luciffer
The Flash
Game of Thrones
Gotham
YouTube
Tomska
Hishe (how it should have ended)
Honest Trailers
Nostalgia Critic

Animations

Adventure Time
Justice League Action
Family Guy
The Simpsons
South Park
Futurama
Bobs burgers

Video Games

Assassin Creed
The Batman Arkham trilogy
Dumb ways to die
Watch dogs
GTA 5
Tail tales batman
Super Mario brothers

Comic books

Batman
Superman
Thor
Deadpool
Spider-Man
Ironman
Green Lantern
The Flash

I think looking at comic books more would help me more into my ideas for the art style as wel…

Reflective statement - soundscape

I found that this project was great I loved every minute of it, I am happy with my outcomes however I think that image 2 of my sound could of needed more sound e.g. Maybe more wet or sloggy sounds to help the idea of the images. I loved going outside and different places to record simple sounds and edit them to fit my ideas and concepts. All in all a great project for me.

My chosen audience and research

I decided for my target audience should be for 11 to 16-year-old girls, for myself I thought this might be easier for I could compare what I used to watch when either their age as well as see what things have changed to what they like now. What I decided to do was a little bit of online research first asking questions like what the best TV drama, the best show and best cartoon for teens, I was getting some idea of what they like however it was not really set in stone it was not enough information. So I turned to Facebook and asked friends and family this question.

"hi guys in my project I'm doing a animation for girl between the ages of 11 to 16 so it would be a great help to know what they like to watch on T.V? so please ask a friend or family member what they are watching if they are this age or what you use to like watching as a teen. thank you"

This is the result:

TV Drama/Shows
teen wolf
once open a time
big bang theory
 pretty little liars

My chosen bioscientific scenario and Research

After looking more into the cell cycle and asking advice from a hospice nurse about the subject, I decided to go into the subject of Most cell division results in genetically identical daughter cells AKA mitosis, for I found it exciting learning more about how cells hold our DNA through chromosomes,

The Research

To understand this subject I did a little bit of digging into the medical textbook, online and talking to a hospice nurse in Margate Kent. When bringing up the cell cycle and the 3 bioscientific scenarios, she said that Mitosis is my best bet.

Inside each cell are chromosomes that hold DNA which determines how you look, the colour of your skin and eyes, it also combined DNA from your mother and father to make yourself.

Cell Division is the process in which the parent cells divides into two or more identical daughters cells, Cell division usually occurs as part of a larger cell cycle. In eukaryotes, there are two distinct types of cell division: a vegetative division, whereby …

Close Encounters of the Third Kind by Steven Speilberg 1971 - film review 19 cutting edge

Image
Figure 1
Stephen Spielberg is known by some members to be a whimsical and creative director.  His films are solely based on pleasing audiences from beginning to end. In 1977 Spielberg would direct and create his first alien film that would be the setup to “ET “; this film would be “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”.
The narrative of this film at times can be a bit complicated but when looking back it is quite simple. It is about two different families: a single mother with a small boy who starts to have strange encounters with aliens, eventually losing her son to them and finding herself trying  to find the aliens to get her son back, the other family focuses on a father who after an experience with the aliens begins to have weird visions of a mountain and throughout the film tries to recreate it to try and remember where it is from, whilst at the same time alienating his family.  It is not until both single mother and father come together that they find the mountain that they are …
